Fostering Non-Profit Leadership
Al Fozan Academy was established to fulfill the dire need for developing the capabilities of leaders and managers of non-profit institutions as a joint cooperation between King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals and the Al Fozan Social Foundation. It seeks to train a generation of leaders capable of competently managing third sector institutions in order to fulfill their required role in the community by building, designing, and implementing professional excellence programs.
Al Fozan Academy was set up in the building of the College of Petroleum Engineering and Geosciences and opened by the late King Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in 2015. It currently offers specialized training courses, practitioner diploma certificates, and specialized master’s programs. The academy has reached several major milestones on its journey to become a leader in non-profit leadership development, including the launch of its first training program, ‘Development of Financial Resources: Principles and Techniques,’ in partnership with the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University in 2017. It has also signed academic cooperation agreements with prestigious institutions such as Cass Business School, London, Grand Valley State University, Michigan, Lester Center and The University of Arizona.
