His Excellency praised the contributions of the Al Fozan Program for Community Service through the Mujassam Watan Competition, which has excelled in enhancing the visual landscape of cities. Al-Jubeir stated that the competition goes beyond being a community initiative, as it has become a vital development project that has transformed the design of city landmarks and enriched the culture of sculptures in public spaces. He described it as a qualitative shift in creating competitive environments that express love for the nation through captivating and inspiring sculptures, highlighting the competition's distinguished impact over previous seasons, where many artistic designs have been showcased.

During the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Abdullah Al Fozan expressed his appreciation for the great support from the Eastern Province Municipality, Khobar Municipality, and all their staff, as well as the collective efforts of partners to achieve community integration. He affirmed that after six successful seasons, the competition has inspired many creatives and will continue to innovate designs that reflect the spirit, history, and culture of the Kingdom while meeting the aspirations of the community. This square, gifted by the Al Fozan Program for Community Service, is part of its ongoing role in enhancing the quality of life and the urban landscape of the city.

Dr. Al-Naim added, “We are truly proud of the achievements made by the competition in its previous seasons, as it has marked a significant shift in urban and architectural development.” He noted that the sixth season of the competition received more than 400 entries from within and outside the Kingdom, which were evaluated by an experienced judging panel, adhering to impartiality and integrity standards, resulting in a shortlist of 10 entries. The winners of the competition will be announced in the coming days.

Khobar Memory Square commemorates the region's most important landmarks, making it a distinctive feature reflecting the city's ever-evolving identity. The square consists of a bridge flanked by two walls, leading to the sea, symbolizing the Kingdom's vision for the future and reflecting several well-known landmarks in the city, starting with Khobar Pier, the city's gateway to the Gulf since the 1930s, followed by King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, the cultural and architectural icon "Ithra," and ending with one of Khobar’s future landmarks, "Ajdan Infinity."

Mujassam Watan is an annual national competition that attracts competitive works to be realized as sculptures on National Day and Founding Day each year. The winners of the sixth season will be announced in the coming days. In previous seasons, the competition inaugurated AlBairaq Roundabout, Arda and Anan Alsamaa square, Obayyah Roundabout, and the Foundation Roundabout.
