UNESCO AlFozan International Prize Strengthens the Presence of Young Scientists
The UNESCO AlFozan International Prize for the Promotion of Young Scientists in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) had a prominent presence as part of the participation of the Abdullah AlFozan Foundation for Education in the fourth UNESCO Global Forum on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence, held in Riyadh from September 14 to 17.
The Foundation’s participation reflected the Prize’s mission to support young scientists, strengthen their presence in international scientific discussions, and open broader opportunities for them to learn, collaborate, and contribute to addressing contemporary scientific and technological challenges.
The participation featured several scientific and educational activities, including an exhibition booth introducing the Prize and highlighting the achievements of its winners, a hands-on
workshop for students, and a specialized panel discussion organized by the Foundation on scientific integrity in the age of artificial intelligence. The participation also included the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Abdullah AlFozan Foundation for Education and the International Center for AI Research and Ethics (ICAIRE).
Abdullah AlFozan said: “The UNESCO AlFozan Prize represents an international platform through which we seek to support young scientists and empower them to play an active role in the future of science. Our participation in this forum provided an important space to amplify their voices, connect them with global discussions on responsible artificial intelligence, and enhance opportunities for collaboration and knowledge-sharing.”
