Honoring Abdul Latif Al-Fozan at the King Faisal Prize Ceremony

الفوزان

Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud—may God preserve him—and on his behalf, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the Riyadh Region, honored the winners of the 2026 King Faisal Prize. The ceremony was attended by royal dignitaries, senior officials, leading scholars, and representatives of scientific, cultural, and media institutions.

During the ceremony, Mr. Abdul Latif bin Ahmed Al-Fozan was awarded the King Faisal Prize for Service to Islam, in recognition of his adoption of an institutional approach and a strategic vision that promotes sustainability, supports innovation, and strengthens developmental competitiveness. This was demonstrated through high-quality initiatives aligned with development needs, his establishment of the Ajwad Endowment, and his humanitarian efforts, which have left a clear impact on both people and communities, contributing to the dissemination and documentation of Islamic culture.

It is worth noting that the King Faisal Prize, established in 1977 and first awarded in 1979, is chaired by Prince Khalid Al-Faisal. It is considered one of the world’s most prestigious awards, granted in five categories: Service to Islam, Islamic Studies, Arabic Language and Literature, Medicine, and Science. The prize reinforces Riyadh’s status as a global hub for celebrating knowledge and honoring changemakers, with the aim of serving Muslims in the present and future, inspiring contributions across all fields of civilization, and enriching and advancing human knowledge.
